Reiki Healing från Sann Samtal

What does Reiki mean?

Reiki is Japanese and consists of two words: rei, which means "universal" and ki, which means "life energy" and corresponds to chi in Chinese and prana in India. Universal life energy refers to the highest known energy level, which is then divided into "lower" energy levels in different contexts, such as for example, the energy you work with in Tai Chi.

How does Reiki work?

Reiki works on several levels at the same time, partly through the physical touch, which activates "feel-good hormones" in the body (oxytocin), partly through the body's subtle energy system in the same way as acupuncture and acupressure. There are also similarities with therapies such as the Rosen method; Traumatic and painful memories being stored in the body in the form of physical tensions and blockages. Through touch the tensions can be dissolved, and the client can then let go of what caused the pain initially.

Reiki healing is a holistic treatment method, which assumes that body and psyche are a whole. Therefore, the whole body is often treated, even if you have problems that are experienced as limited to a certain area.

Reiki is approved as wellness care by the Swedish Tax Agency. Read more under Reiki is health care.

How does Reiki feel?

Reiki provides a soft, deeply relaxing feeling.  Something commonly associated with Reiki is the practitioner's warm hands.

During Reiki treatment the client experiences deep relaxation and a pleasant calm. It is not unusual for the client to fall asleep during the treatment. If this happens it is what the client needs and does not affect the Reiki in a negative way.

How the Reiki energy is to be used is determined by the client's own body. For that reason, we say that Reiki is a priority healer. The energy goes to what the client most needs help with at the moment. Normally new injuries heal faster than old injuries.

We start with a short conversation and then the Reiki treatment. (About 75 minutes).
